Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Have you received the news of the Enveloper? 1 On that Day, there shall be downcast faces, 2 Labouring, wearied out, 3 roasting at a scorching Fire 4 given to drink from a boiling spring. 5 No food will there be for them but a poisonous thorny plant, 6 Which doth not nourish nor release from hunger. 7 [And] some faces will on that Day shine with bliss, 8 well pleased with their striving, 9 They shall be in a Garden lofty: 10 hearing there no babble; 11 Within it is a flowing spring. 12 therein uplifted couches 13 And cups set at hand. 14 and cushions arrayed in rows, 15 and carpets outspread. 16 Will they not then consider the camels, how they are created? 17 how the heavens are raised up high, 18 and how the mountains were firmly fixed? 19 and how the earth is spread out? 20 So, [O Prophet] exhort them: your task is only to exhort, 21 You are not over them a controller. 22 But if any turn away and reject Allah,- 23 Allah will chastise him with the most terrible chastisement. 24 Verily unto Us is their return. 25 In Our hands are their accounts. 26
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
