The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ When the sky is torn apart, 1 hearing and obeying its Lord, as it must do; 2 and when the earth is stretched out 3 And shall cast forth that which is therein, and shall become empty. 4 and obeys its Lord as it must, 5 O Man! Thou art labouring unto thy Lord laboriously, and thou shalt encounter Him. 6 So whoever is given his record of deeds in his right hand – 7 will be easy, 8 And he shall return unto his people joyfully. 9 But he who is given his Record behind his back,- 10 He will invoke (his) destruction, 11 And enter into burning fire. 12 Indeed, he had [once] been among his people in happiness; 13 thinking he would never revert (to Us). 14 Yea! surely his Lord does ever see him. 15 I swear by the glow of sunset, 16 by the night and what it covers, 17 And the Moon in her fullness: 18 [That] you will surely experience state after state. 19 What is the matter with them, that they do not believe 20 And when the Quran is recited to them they do not make obeisance? ۩ 21 In fact the unbelievers disavow. 22 And Allah well knows what they conceal in their hearts. 23 So give them tidings of a painful punishment, 24 except to those who believe, and do righteous deeds, for theirs is an unfailing recompense. 25
