Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Has the news of the overwhelming event reached you? 1 Faces on that Day shall be downcast, 2 Laboring, toiling, 3 they shall enter a burning Fire 4 They will be given drink from a boiling spring. 5 No food for them save bitter thorn-fruit 6 which will neither fatten them nor satisfy them. 7 Faces on that Day shall be delighted, 8 Pleased with their striving,- 9 in a sublime garden, 10 Where they shall neither hear harmful speech nor falsehood, 11 Countless springs will flow therein, 12 therein uplifted couches 13 Goblets placed (ready), 14 and cushions arrayed in rows, 15 And rich carpets (all) spread out. 16 Will they not then consider the camels, how they are created? 17 And the heavens, how it was raised high; 18 And the hills, how they are set up? 19 And at the earth, how it is outspread? 20 Remind them, for thou art but a remembrancer, 21 Thou art not over them a warden. 22 Save the one who turns away and disbelieves 23 Him Allah shall torment with the greatest torment. 24 Indeed, to Us is their return. 25 Then indeed only upon Us is their reckoning. 26
