Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Have you received the news of the Enveloper? 1 On that day (many) faces will be downcast, 2 toiling [under burdens of sin,] worn out [by fear,] 3 they shall burn in a Scorching Fire; 4 Made to drink from a boiling spring. 5 they shall have no food but thorns, 6 Which shall neither nourish nor avail against hunger. 7 [Other] faces, that Day, will show pleasure. 8 well pleased with the result of their striving, 9 in a sublime Garden, 10 where they will hear no idle talk. 11 Within it is a flowing spring. 12 Therein shall be couches elevated! 13 and goblets placed ready, 14 and cushions arrayed 15 and carpets spread out. 16 Do they not look at the Camels, how they are made?- 17 and on the sky, how it is raised aloft, 18 how the mountains were hoisted, 19 And at the earth, how it is spread out? 20 Then remind them! Thou art only a reminder; 21 You are not a dictator over them. 22 Save the one who turns away and disbelieves 23 him will God cause to suffer the greatest suffering [in the life to come]: 24 Surely to Us is their turning back, 25 Then verily on Us is their reckoning. 26
