Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Hath there come unto thee the story of the Enveloping Event? 1 Some faces that Day shall be downcast with fear, 2 Laboring, toiling, 3 They will enter in the hot blazing Fire, 4 and will be made to drink from a boiling spring, 5 no food for them except thorny plants 6 Which neither nourishes nor avails against hunger. 7 (Whereas other) faces on that Day will be joyful, 8 With their effort [they are] satisfied 9 in a Garden on high, 10 Wherein you shall not hear vain talk. 11 Therein shall be a spring running! 12 and raised couches, 13 and prepared goblets, 14 And cushions ranged 15 and carpets outspread. 16 Look they not at the camels, how they are created? 17 And the heaven – how it has been raised? 18 And at the Mountains, how they are fixed firm?- 19 And at the earth, how it is spread out? 20 So remind, [O Muhammad]; you are only a reminder. 21 thou canst not compel them [to believe]. 22 But whosoever will turn back and disbelieve 23 Then Allah will punish him with the greatest punishment. 24 To Us they will all return. 25 Then verily on Us is their reckoning. 26
