Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By oath of those which carry away while dispersing. 1 by the clouds which are heavily loaded with water, 2 by the ships which smoothly sail on the oceans, 3 then by the distributors (angels), ordered; 4 Verily that which ye are promised is true; 5 And verily Judgment and Justice must indeed come to pass. 6 By the heaven full of paths, 7 surely you speak at variance, 8 he is turned away from [the truth] who is destined to be so turned away. 9 Cursed be the liars, 10 Who are lost in deception. 11 They ask: When is the Day of Judgment? 12 Upon the day when they shall be tried at the Fire: 13 "Taste you your trial (burning)! This is what you used to ask to be hastened!" 14 [But,] behold, the God-conscious will find themselves amid gardens and springs, 15 Taking what their Lord gives them; surely they were before that, the doers of good. 16 They used to sleep only a little during the night. 17 And in the dawns they prayed for forgiveness. 18 And from their properties was [given] the right of the [needy] petitioner and the deprived. 19 And in the earth are portents for those whose faith is sure. 20 And also in your own selves. Behold ye not? 21 And in heaven is your Sustenance, as (also) that which ye are promised. 22 And by the Lord of the heavens and the earth, it is the truth, even as (it is true) that ye speak. 23
