Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Has the story reached thee of the overwhelming (Event)? 1 On that Day, there shall be downcast faces, 2 troubled and tired as a result of their deeds in the past. 3 they shall burn in a Scorching Fire; 4 Made to drink water from the boiling hot spring. 5 They shall have no food but of thorns, 6 Which will neither fatten nor avail against hunger. 7 Many faces will be joyous on that day, 8 well pleased with their striving, 9 In the high empyrean, 10 hearing there no babble; 11 Therein shall be a spring running! 12 Therein will be thrones raised high, 13 Goblets placed (ready), 14 And cushions ranged! 15 And rich carpets (all) spread out. 16 Do they not look at the camels, how they are created? 17 And how the heaven was raised up, 18 And at the mountains - how they are erected? 19 and on the earth, how it is spread out? 20 Therefore do remind, for you are only a reminder. 21 Thou art not at all a warder over them. 22 However, those who turn away and disbelieve, 23 Allah will chastise him with the most terrible chastisement. 24 Verily, to Us will be their return; 25 Then verily, for Us will be their reckoning. 26

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
