Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
HAS NEWS OF the Overpowering Event reached you? 1 (Some) faces on that day shall be downcast, 2 Travailing, worn. 3 they shall enter a burning Fire 4 Given water from the boiling spring to drink. 5 There is no food for them except thorns of fire. 6 Which will neither nourish nor satisfy hunger. 7 However, on that day the faces of other people will be happy. 8 well-pleased with [the fruit of] their striving, 9 in a Garden on high, 10 Wherein they will hear no unsuitable speech. 11 Countless springs will flow therein, 12 raised couches, 13 and goblets set forth 14 And cushions ranged! 15 And rich carpets (all) spread out. 16 Do they not look at the Camels, how they are made?- 17 And at the heaven, how it is raised? 18 And at the mountains - how they are erected? 19 And at the earth, how it is spread out? 20 So remind them (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)), you are only a one who reminds. 21 thou art not charged to oversee them. 22 However, as for him who turns away, being bent on denying the truth, 23 Allah will chastise him with the most terrible chastisement. 24 Indeed only towards Us is their return 25 In Our hands are their accounts. 26
