Al-Shams

The Sun (Al-Shams)

15 verses, revealed in Mecca after Destiny (Al-Qadr) before The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)

In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful

CONSIDER the sun and its radiant brightness, 1 by the moon when it follows the sun, 2 And by oath of the day when it reveals it 3 and by the night when it enshrouds him! 4 And the heaven and Him Who built it, 5 and the earth and all its expanse! 6 And the soul and Him Who made it perfect, 7 and inspired it with knowledge of evil and piety, 8 He will indeed be successful who purifies it, 9 And indeed failed is the one who covered it in sin. 10 The people of Thamud rejected (the truth) as a result of their rebelliousness 11 When the most unfortunate of them broke forth with 12 And the messenger of Allah said: It is the she-camel of Allah, so let her drink! 13 But they belied him, and hamstrung her. So their Lord crushed them for their sin and leveled it (their village). 14 And He feared not the consequence thereof 15

Almighty God's Truth.
