The Sun (Al-Shams)
15 verses, revealed in Mecca after Destiny (Al-Qadr) before The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the sun and its rising brightness 1 By the Moon as she follows him; 2 and by the day as it reveals its glory 3 by the night when it covers the earth with darkness, 4 And the heaven and Him Who built it, 5 And by the earth and Him Who spread it, 6 And the soul and Him Who made it perfect, 7 Then He showed him what is wrong for him and what is right for him; 8 He who purifies it will prosper, 9 and failed is he who buried it! 10 Thamud belied in their exorbitance. 11 when the most wicked man among them rose up. 12 The Messenger of God told them, "This is a she-camel, belonging to God. Do not deprive her of her share of water". 13 But they rejected his statement as a lie and hamstrung the she-camel. For that crime their Lord rumbled down upon them, utterly razing them to the ground. 14 He does not fear the result (of their destruction). 15
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
