The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the night when it covers the day, 1 By the day when it appeareth in glory, 2 And by Who created the male and female, 3 Lo! your effort is dispersed (toward divers ends). 4 We shall facilitate the path to bliss 5 And believes in the best [reward], 6 We will make smooth for him the path of ease (goodness). 7 but for him that is a miser, and sufficed, 8 And denied the best matter, 9 We will facilitate for him the difficult end. 10 And his wealth will not avail him when he perishes. 11 Lo! Ours it is (to give) the guidance 12 And lo! unto Us belong the latter portion and the former. 13 Therefore I have warned you of a Fire blazing fiercely (Hell); 14 No one will burn in it but the most wretched, 15 Who denies and turns away. 16 But the righteous one will avoid it - 17 he that spends his possessions [on others] so that he might grow in purity 18 And is under no one's obligation to return his favour, 19 Except as seeking (to fulfil) the purpose of his Lord Most High. 20 He surely will be pleased (when he will enter Paradise). 21
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
