The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the night enshrouding 1 and the day in splendour 2 And [by] He who created the male and female, 3 your striving is indeed to different ends! 4 So he who gives (in charity) and fears (Allah), 5 And believeth in goodness; 6 We shall surely ease him to the Path of Easing; 7 But as for him who hoardeth and deemeth himself independent, 8 And denied the best matter, 9 Surely We will ease his way unto adversity. 10 And his wealth will not avail him when he perishes. 11 Surely, in Our hands is guidance, 12 And verify Ours is both the Hereafter and the life present. 13 Wherefore I have warned you of Fire flaming, 14 none shall enter it but the most wicked, 15 The one who denied and turned away. 16 The pious ones will be safe from this fire 17 even he who gives his wealth. to purify himself 18 and confers no favour on any man for recompense, 19 But only the desire to seek for the Countenance of their Lord Most High; 20 He surely will be pleased (when he will enter Paradise). 21
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
