The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the night enshrouding 1 and by the day when it unveils. 2 And [by] He who created the male and female, 3 Certainly, your efforts and deeds are diverse (different in aims and purposes); 4 So he who gives (in charity) and fears (Allah), 5 and confirms the reward most fair, 6 for him shall We make easy the path towards [ultimate] ease. 7 And for him who hoarded wealth and remained carefree, 8 And who belieth the Good, 9 We will facilitate for him the difficult end. 10 his wealth shall not avail him when he perishes. 11 Lo! Ours it is (to give) the guidance 12 And most surely Ours is the hereafter and the former. 13 I have warned you about the fierce blazing fire 14 in which none shall be roasted except the most wretched sinner, 15 who rejected the Truth, calling it falsehood and turned his back on it. 16 But those most devoted to Allah shall be removed far from it,- 17 even he who gives his wealth. to purify himself 18 And not [giving] for anyone who has [done him] a favor to be rewarded 19 But only seeking the Countenance of his Lord the Most High. 20 And he is going to be satisfied. 21
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
