The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the night enshrouding 1 and by the day as it appears radiantly, 2 and by that (Power) which created the male and female, 3 Indeed, your efforts are diverse. 4 As for him who gives and is godfearing 5 And believed the best matter to be true 6 We shall ease the way of fortune for him. 7 but for him that is a miser, and sufficed, 8 And disbelieveth in goodness; 9 We will ease him toward difficulty. 10 Nor will his wealth profit him when he falls headlong (into the Pit). 11 Lo! Ours it is (to give) the guidance 12 and to Us belongs the Hereafter as well as the present world -- 13 and so I warn you of the raging fire 14 None shall enter it save the most wretched, 15 Who give the lie to Truth and turn their backs. 16 For, distant from it shall remain he who is truly conscious of God: 17 who spend for the cause of God and purify themselves. 18 They do not expect any reward 19 seeking only the Face of his Lord, the Most High, 20 And indeed, soon he will be very pleased. 21
True are the words of God the Almighty.
