The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
CONSIDER the bright morning hours, 1 and by the night when it covers, 2 Thy Lord hath not forsaken thee nor doth He hate thee, 3 for, indeed, the life to come will be better for thee than this earlier part [of thy life]! 4 For your Lord will certainly give you, and you will be content. 5 Has He not found thee an orphan, and given thee shelter? 6 Did He not find you unaware of the Right Way, and then directed you to it? 7 And found thee in want, and given thee sufficiency? 8 Therefore do not oppress the orphan. 9 and do not chide the one who asks for help; 10 but proclaim the blessings of your Lord. 11
