The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
READ IN THE name of your Lord who created, 1 created man from a clot of congealed blood. 2 Recite: and your Lord is Most Generous, 3 who taught by the pen, 4 He taught the human being what he did not know. 5 Yes indeed, man is surely rebellious. 6 As he considers himself independent! 7 Verily unto thy Lord is the return. 8 Have you seen the one who forbids 9 A slave when he prayeth? 10 Have you thought, if he had been on guidance 11 or orders piety? 12 Did you consider: what if he gives the lie (to the Truth) and turns away (from it)? 13 Does he not know that God observes all things? 14 No indeed; surely, if he gives not over, We shall seize him by the forelock, 15 A lying, sinful forelock! 16 So let him now call his gang! 17 We, will call the Zabania (the harsh angels of Hell). 18 Nay, heed him not: But bow down in adoration, and bring thyself the closer (to Allah)! ۩ 19
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
