The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Read! In the name of your Lord, who created: 1 Has created man from a clot (a piece of thick coagulated blood). 2 Read! Your Lord is the Most Bountiful One 3 Who taught by the pen - 4 The One Who taught man all what he did not know. 5 And yet, but yet man is rebellious, 6 because he thinks that he is independent. 7 truly, all will return to your Lord. 8 Bethinkest thou him who forbiddeth, 9 a worshiper when he prays. 10 Did you consider: what if he is on the Right Way, 11 or bade to godfearing -- 12 Have you seen if he denies and turns away - 13 Knoweth he not that Allah doth see? 14 By no means! If he desist not We shall seize and deal him by the forelock 15 The lying, sinful forelock - 16 Then let him summon his council, 17 We shall call the guards of Hell. 18 Nay! obey him not, and make obeisance and draw nigh (to Allah). ۩ 19
