The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
(Muhammad), read in the name of your Lord who created (all things). 1 Created man from an embryo; 2 Recite thou: And thy Lord is the Most Bounteous, 3 who, by the pen, taught the human being: 4 Hath taught man that which he knew not. 5 Despite this, the human being still tends to rebel 6 For he thinks he is sufficient in himself. 7 Surely unto thy Lord is the Returning. 8 Have you (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) seen him (i.e. Abu Jahl) who prevents, 9 A bondman when he offers the prayer? 10 Seest thou if he is on (the road of) Guidance?- 11 Or he commandeth piety? 12 What is your opinion – if he denies and turns away, how wretched will be his state! 13 does he not know that Allah sees? 14 Indeed, if he does not desist, We will seize him by the forelock, 15 The lying, sinful forelock - 16 So let him summon his helpmates; 17 We too would summon the braves of the army. 18 Nay! (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him))! Do not obey him (Abu Jahl). Fall prostrate and draw near to Allah! ۩ 19
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
