The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Read with the name of your Lord Who created, 1 created man from a clot of congealed blood. 2 Read! And your Lord is the Most Generous, 3 who has taught [man] the use of the pen 4 taught man what he did not know. 5 Nay! man is most surely inordinate, 6 As he bethinkest himself selfsufficient. 7 However, (all things) will return to your Lord. 8 Have you (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) seen him (i.e. Abu Jahl) who prevents, 9 a worshiper when he prays. 10 Did you consider: what if he is on the Right Way, 11 or enjoins true piety? 12 Have you considered if he gives the lie to the truth and turns (his) back? 13 Knoweth he not that Allah doth see? 14 No indeed; surely, if he gives not over, We shall seize him by the forelock, 15 a lying, sinful forelock. 16 So let him call on his concourse! 17 We will call the angels of Hell. 18 No indeed! Do not obey him, but prostrate yourself and come closer to God. ۩ 19
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
