The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Read with the name of your Lord Who created, 1 Created man from a clot. 2 Recite! Your Lord is the most Honorable One, 3 Who hath taught mankind by the pen 4 taught man what he did not know. 5 And yet, but yet man is rebellious, 6 As he considers himself independent! 7 Surely to your Lord is your return. 8 Did you see him who forbids 9 A bondman of Ours when he prayeth 10 Tell me, if he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) is on the guidance (of Allah)? 11 or orders piety? 12 Have you seen if he denies and turns away - 13 Does he not know that Allah sees? 14 By no means! If he desist not We shall seize and deal him by the forelock 15 A forelock that lies, is sinful. 16 So, let him call upon his way! 17 We will call the guards of hell. 18 No indeed! Do not obey him, but prostrate yourself and come closer to God. ۩ 19
