The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca. First revelation of the Quran before The Pen (Al-Qalam)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
Recite: In the Name of thy Lord who created, 1 He created man from a clot of blood. 2 Read and your Lord is Most Honorable, 3 who taught by the pen, 4 taught the human what he did not know. 5 No indeed; surely Man waxes insolent, 6 In that he looketh upon himself as self-sufficient. 7 truly, all will return to your Lord. 8 Have you seen one who prevents 9 a worshiper when he prays. 10 What thinkest thou? If he were upon guidance 11 Or enjoineth piety? 12 Seest thou if he denies (Truth) and turns away? 13 Does he not know that Allah sees everything? 14 And yet indeed if he does not desist We shall drag him by the forelock, 15 by the lying forelock steeped in sin. 16 Then let him summon his council, 17 We will call the angels of Hell. 18 Beware! Do not obey him, but bow in adoration and draw near (to your Lord). ۩ 19
Almighty God's Truth.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
