Al-Aadeyaat
The Galloppers (Al-Aadeyaat)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Afternoon (Al-'Asr) before Bounty (Al-Kawthar)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the snorting, panting horses, 1 striking sparks of fire with their hooves, 2 And push home the charge in the morning, 3 raising a trail of dust, 4 dividing the gathering. 5 Indeed mankind, to his Lord, is ungrateful. 6 And to that fact he bears witness (by his deeds); 7 And lo! in the love of wealth he is violent. 8 ۞ Does he not know that on the day when those in the graves are resurrected 9 And what is in the breasts is made apparent? 10 On that day their Lord surely knows all about them! 11
