The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Woe to every slanderer and backbiter 1 who has gathered riches and counted them over 2 He thinks that his wealth will immortalise him forever. 3 Nay, but verily he will be flung to the Consuming One. 4 And what can make you know what is the Crusher? 5 A fire kindled by God, 6 Which mounts directed at the hearts. 7 Verily, it shall be closed in on them, 8 In columns outstretched. 9

God the Almighty always says the truth.
