Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace

May the hands of Abu Lahab be ruined, and ruined is he. 1 No profit to him from all his wealth, and all his gains! 2 Anon he shall roast into Fire having flame. 3 And his wife too, who carries wood (thorns of Sadan which she used to put on the way of the Prophet (Peace be upon him), or use to slander him). 4 [who bears] around her neck a rope of twisted strands! 5

Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
