Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Perish the two hands of Abu Lahab, and perish he! 1 Neither his wealth nor his gains will avail him. 2 He shall soon enter a Blazing Fire, 3 And his wife too, who carries wood (thorns of Sadan which she used to put on the way of the Prophet (Peace be upon him), or use to slander him). 4 A rope made from palm fibre around her neck! 5

God Almighty has spoken the truth.
