Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful

The power of Abu Lahab will perish, and he will perish. 1 His property and worldly gains will be of no help to him. 2 Surely, he will be cast into a Flaming Fire 3 And his wife also: the firewood carrier; 4 Will have a strap of fibre rope around her neck. 5

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
