Al-Baqarah 5 of 40
O Descendants of Israel (Jacob)! Remember My favour which I bestowed upon you, and fulfil your covenant towards Me, I shall fulfil My covenant towards you; and fear Me alone. 40 Believe in that which I have [now] bestowed from on high, confirming the truth already in your possession, and be not foremost among those who deny its truth; and do not barter away My messages for a trifling gain; and of Me, of Me be conscious 41 And do not mix the truth with falsehood or conceal the truth while you know [it]. 42 And establish prayer and give zakah and bow with those who bow [in worship and obedience]. 43 ۞ Do you bid other people to be pious, the while you forget your own selves - and yet you recite the divine writ? Will you not, then, use your reason?! 44 And seek assistance through patience and prayer, and most surely it is a hard thing except for the humble ones, 45 Who know that they shall meet their Lord and that they shall return to Him. 46
