A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ AlifLaamMeemSaad. 1 [This is] a Book revealed to you, [O Muhammad] - so let there not be in your breast distress therefrom - that you may warn thereby and as a reminder to the believers. 2 Follow, [O mankind], what has been revealed to you from your Lord and do not follow other than Him any allies. Little do you remember. 3 How many a township have We destroyed! As a raid by night, or while they slept at noon, Our terror came unto them. 4 Then naught was their cry when Our violence came upon them save that they said: verily we have been the wrong-doers. 5 Most certainly then We will question those to whom (the apostles) were sent, and most certainly We will also question the apostles; 6 with full knowledge, We shall tell them what they did, for We have never been away from them. 7 (Everyone's deeds) will certainly be weighed (and evaluated) on the Day of Judgment. Those whose good deeds weigh heavier than their bad deeds will have everlasting happiness. 8 And those whose scales are light - they are the ones who will lose themselves for what injustice they were doing toward Our verses. 9 We have established you in the earth and there appointed for you livelihood; little thanks you show. 10
