And if they belie you, say: "For me are my deeds and for you are your deeds! You are innocent of what I do, and I am innocent of what you do!" 41 And some of them give ear to thee; what, wilt thou make the deaf to hear, though they understand not? 42 And of them are some who look at thee, so canst thou guide the blind, even though they see not? 43 Surely Allah does not wrong men; they rather wrong themselves. 44 And on the Day when He shall gather them [unto Himself, it will seem to them] as if they had not tarried [on earth] longer than an hour of a day, knowing one another; [and] lost indeed will be they who [in their lifetime] considered it a lie that they were destined to meet God, and [thus] failed to find the right way. 45 Whether We let you see some of that with which We promised them, or We call you to Us, to Us they shall return. Allah is witness of the things they do. 46 Every nation has a messenger. Once their messenger has come, judgement will be passed upon them in all fairness and they will not be wronged. 47 They say: "When will this promise come to pass,- if ye speak the truth?" 48 Say: I do not control for myself any harm, or any benefit except what Allah pleases; every nation has a term; when their term comes, they shall not then remain behind for an hour, nor can they go before (their time). 49 Ask them, "What benefit can criminals get from their demand that God must punish them immediately if His words are true?" Whether His punishment befalls them during the day or night (they will not be able to escape). 50 “So will you believe it only when it has occurred? What! You believe in it now, whereas you were impatient* for it before? (* Eagerly demanding for it to occur.) 51 Then will the sinners be told: "Now taste everlasting torment. Should you be rewarded for anything else but what you did?" 52 They seek to be informed by thee: "Is that true?" Say: "Aye! by my Lord! it is the very truth! and ye cannot frustrate it!" 53
