In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Alif-Lam-Ra; these are verses of the Book and the bright Qur’an. 1 The unbelievers would haply like to wish that they had submitted (and become Muslim). 2 Leave them alone; let them eat and enjoy themselves the while the hope [of vain delights] beguiles them: for in time they will come to know [the truth]. 3 And never did We destroy a town but it had a term made known. 4 No nation will precede its term, nor will they remain thereafter. 5 They say: 'Thou, upon whom the Remembrance is sent down, thou art assuredly possessed! 6 "Why bringest thou not angels to us if it be that thou hast the Truth?" 7 We send not down the angels, save with truth; 8 Surely We have revealed the Reminder and We will most surely be its guardian. 9 Indeed, We sent Messengers before you (O Muhammad SAW) amongst the sects (communities) of old. 10 And no messenger would come to them except that they ridiculed him. 11 Even so do we let it creep into the hearts of the sinners - 12 So, they will not believe in it: The example of former people is there. 13 Even if We open a door in the heavens and they ascend through it in broad daylight, 14 yet would they say, 'Our eyes have been dazzled; nay, we are a people bewitched!' 15

عند قراءة القرآن الملون في وضعية اللغة العربية المرسومة بالأحرف الإنجليزية، قد لا تلاحظ وجود منظومة برمجية مصممة لمطابقة متطلبات علامات الوقف في النص العربي الأصلي. فكما تعلم، يحتوي القرآن على خمسة أنواع رئيسية من علامات الوقف. (1) وقف لازم، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي نقطة وقف. (2) وقف جائز مع الوقف أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلثين. (3) وقف جائز مع تساوي أولوية الوقف والوصل، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال النصف للنصف. (4) وقف جائز مع الوصل أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلث. When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
