Man We fashioned from fermented clay dried tingling hard, 26 And the jinn We created before from scorching fire. 27 And [mention, O Muhammad], when your Lord said to the angels, "I will create a human being out of clay from an altered black mud. 28 And when I have proportioned him and breathed into him of My [created] soul, then fall down to him in prostration." 29 Therefore all the angels, each and every one of them, fell prostrate. 30 But Satan did not; he refused to join those who prostrated themselves. 31 "How is it, O Iblis," said (the Lord), "you did not join those who bowed in homage?" 32 He said it was not for me that I should prostrate myself unto a human being whom Thou hast created from ringing clay of loam moulded. 33 [Allah] said, "Then get out of it, for indeed, you are expelled. 34 And surely on you is curse until the day of judgment. 35 He said, “My Lord! Grant me respite till the day when they will all be raised.” 36 Answered He: "Verily, so be it: thou shalt be among those who are granted respite 37 “Till the Day of a well-known time.” 38 [Whereupon Iblis] said: "O my Sustainer! Since Thou hast thwarted me, I shall indeed make [all that is evil] on earth seem goodly to them, and shall most certainly beguile them - into grievous error 39 Except, among them, Your chosen servants." 40 Allah said: "Here is the path that leads straight to Me. 41 over My worshipers you have no authority, except the perverse that follow you. 42 And lo! for all such, hell will be the promised place. 43 "It (Hell) has seven gates, for each of those gates is a (special) class (of sinners) assigned. 44
