At length when the messengers arrived among the adherents of Lut, 61 He said: "Ye appear to be uncommon folk." 62 They said, “In fact we have brought to you the matter which these people doubted.” 63 "And we have brought to you the truth (the news of the destruction of your nation) and certainly, we tell the truth. 64 Depart with your family in a part of the night and walk behind them and let none of you turn round. Go to a place where you are commanded' 65 And We decreed unto him this commandment because the last of those was to be cut off in the early morning. 66 And the people of the city came rejoicing. 67 He said, 'These are my guests; put me not to shame, 68 but be conscious of God and disgrace me not!" 69 They (people of the city) said: "Did we not forbid you to entertain (or protect) any of the 'Alamin (people, foreigners, strangers, etc. from us)?" 70 [Lot] said, "These are my daughters - if you would be doers [of lawful marriage]." 71 By your life, [O Muhammad], indeed they were, in their intoxication, wandering blindly. 72 Then the shout took hold of them at the sunrise. 73 and turned the land upside down, and rained down stones of baked clay. 74 Surely, in that there are signs for those who contemplate. 75 The place (where this occurred) lies along a known route. 76 surely in that is a sign for believers. 77 And the dwellers of the wood surely were wrong-doers. 78 So We took vengeance on them. And verily both are on a high-road open. 79
