The people of Al-Hijr denied Our apostles; 80 We brought them Our signs, and they turned away from them. 81 And they were hewing out houses from mountains feeling secure. 82 But the (Awful) Cry overtook them at the morning hour, 83 and whatever they had been earning proved of no avail. 84 We have not created but with reason the heavens and the earth and all that lies within them. The Hour (of the great change) is certain to come. So turn away (from them) with a grace. 85 For verily it is thy Lord who is the Master-Creator, knowing all things. 86 We have given thee seven of the oft-repeated, and the mighty Koran. 87 Strain not thine eyes. (Wistfully) at what We have bestowed on certain classes of them, nor grieve over them: but lower thy wing (in gentleness) to the believers. 88 Say, "Indeed, I am simply one who warns." 89 As We have sent down on the dividers, (Quraish pagans or Jews and Christians). 90 and also divided the Quran believing in some parts and rejecting others. 91 Therefore, by your Lord, We shall question every one of them. 92 For all that they used to do. 93 So declare to them what We have enjoined, and turn away from idolaters. 94 verily, We shall suffice thee against all who [now] deride [this message - all] 95 who assert that there are, side by side with God, other divine powers as well: for in time they will come to know [the truth]. 96 And well do We know that thy bosom is constricted by the [blasphemous] things that they say: 97 Exalt with the praise of your Lord and be one of those who prostrate. 98 And serve your Lord until there comes to you that which is certain. 99
