And the people of the Hijr (rocks) denied the Noble Messengers. 80 for We did vouchsafe them Our messages, but they obstinately turned their backs upon them 81 And they used to hew out dwellings from the hills, (wherein they dwelt) secure. 82 But they were seized by the mighty blast towards the morning; 83 Out of what they had gained, nothing proved to be of any benefit to them. 84 And We have not created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, except with the Truth; and indeed the Last Day will come, therefore (O dear Prophet Mohammed peace and blessings be upon him), forbear graciously. 85 Lo! Thy Lord! He is the All-Wise Creator. 86 We have given thee seven of the oft-repeated (verses) and the great Qur'an. 87 Do not stretch your eyes to that We have given pairs of them to enjoy, nor sorrow for them, and lower your wing to the believers. 88 and say: "Behold, I am indeed the plain warner [promised by God]! 89 (Of just such wrath) as We sent down on those who divided (Scripture into arbitrary parts),- 90 Who have made the Qur'an into portions. 91 By thy Lord, We will question them all. 92 About all what they used to do. 93 Hence, proclaim openly all that thou hast been bidden [to say,] and leave alone all those who ascribe divinity to aught beside God: 94 For sufficient are We unto thee against those who scoff,- 95 and believe other things to be equal to God. They will soon know the truth. 96 Indeed, We know that your breast is straitened at what they say. 97 So glorify the praises of your Lord and be of those who prostrate themselves (to Him). 98 And keep worshipping your Lord, till death* comes to you. (* The certainty.) 99
God the Almighty always says the truth.
End of Surah: The Hijjr Valley (Al-Hijjr). Sent down in Mecca after Joseph (Yousuf) before Animals (Al-An 'aam)
