The people of al-Hijr also rejected Our messengers: 80 And We gave them Our communications, but they turned aside from them; 81 They carved out dwellings in the mountains, and lived in security -- 82 So the scream overcame them at morning. 83 All that they had acquired was of no avail to them. 84 And We have not created the heavens and earth and that between them except in truth. And indeed, the Hour is coming; so forgive with gracious forgiveness. 85 Your Lord is indeed the Creator of all, the All-Knowing. 86 We have given you the seven dual (verses, Al Fatihah) and the Mighty Holy Reading (Koran). 87 Do not yearn for other people's property and wives and do not grieve (that they do not believe). Be kind to the believers. 88 And say: "I am indeed he that warneth openly and without ambiguity,"- 89 [For, thou art the bearer of a divine writ] such as We have bestowed from on high upon those who [afterwards] broke it up into parts, 90 those who had split up their Qur'an into pieces. 91 Them, by thy Lord, We shall question, every one, 92 For that which they have been working. 93 Therefore expound openly what thou art commanded, and turn away from those who join false gods with Allah. 94 We will, surely, suffice you against those who mock, 95 Who set up along with Allah another ilah (god), they will come to know. 96 We know indeed thy breast is straitened by the things they say. 97 Exalt with the praise of your Lord and be one of those who prostrate. 98 And serve thy Lord until there come unto thee the Hour that is Certain. 99
