۞ And your Lord has decreed that you worship none but Him. And that you be dutiful to your parents. If one of them or both of them attain old age in your life, say not to them a word of disrespect, nor shout at them but address them in terms of honour. 23 Be humble and merciful towards them and say, "Lord, have mercy upon them as they cherished me in my childhood." 24 Your Lord knows very well what is in your hearts if you are righteous, for He is All-forgiving to those who are penitent. 25 Give the relatives, the destitute and those who when on a journey have become needy, their dues. 26 for those who squander wastefully are Satan's brothers, and Satan is ever ungrateful to his Lord. 27 But if thou turn away from them, seeking mercy from thy Lord, for which thou hopest, then speak unto them a reasonable word. 28 And let not thy hand be chained to thy neck nor open it with a complete opening, lest thou sit down rebuked, denuded. 29 Lo! thy Lord enlargeth the provision for whom He will, and straiteneth (it for whom He will). Lo, He was ever Knower, Seer of His slaves. 30
