WITH ALL THIS, man [often] says, "What! Once I am dead, shall I again be brought forth alive?" 66 Doth not man remember that We created him before, when he was naught? 67 And so, by thy Sustainer, [on Judgment Day] We shall most certainly bring them forth together with the satanic forces [which impelled them in life] and then We shall most certainly gather them, on their knees, around hell; 68 Thereafter, We shall surely draw aside, from each sect, whichever of them against the Compassionate were most in excess. 69 We know best who deserve to be burnt in (the Fire). 70 There is not one among you who will not reach it. Your Lord has made this incumbent on Himself. 71 Then We shall save those who feared God, but the wrongdoers shall be left there on their knees. 72 And when Our clear revelations are recited unto them, those who disbelieve say unto those who believe: Which of the two parties (yours or ours) is better in position, and more imposing as an army? 73 And many a generation We did destroy before them, who exceeded them in wealth and pomp! 74 Say: "As for him who lives in error, may the Most Gracious lengthen the span of his life! [And let them say whatever they say until the time when they behold that [doom] of which they were forewarned - whether it be suffering [in this world] or [at the coming of] the Last Hour - for then they will understand which [of the two kinds of man] was worse in station and weaker in resources! 75 (On the contrary), Allah increases in guidance those who follow the Right Way. Lasting acts of righteousness are better in the sight of your Lord as reward and conducive to a better end. 76 Have you, then, seen him who disbelieves in Our communications and says: I shall certainly be given wealth and children? 77 Has he looked to the unseen, or has he made a pledge to the Merciful One? 78 By no means! We shall write down that which he saith; and We shall lengthen for him of the torment a length. 79 And it is We only Who shall inherit what he says (belongs to him), and he will come to Us, alone. 80 And they have chosen Gods besides Allah, so that they may provide them strength! 81 Never; soon they will deny ever worshipping them, and will turn into their opponents. 82
