T H (Taa Haa)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ TaHa. 1 We have not sent down the Koran upon thee for thee to be unprosperous, 2 Except as a reminder for one who fears. 3 A revelation from Him Who created the earth and the high heavens. 4 The Beneficent Allah is firm in power. 5 To Him belongs what is in the heavens and what is on the earth and what is between them and what is under the soil. 6 Whether you speak aloud [or in a low voice], He hears all, for He knows your secrets and what is even more hidden. 7 God -- there is no god but He. To Him belong the Names Most Beautiful. 8 Has the story of Moses reached you? 9 When he saw a fire and said to his wife, “Wait – I have seen a fire – perhaps I may bring you an ember from it or find a way upon the fire.” 10 But when he came close to it, a voice called out: "O Moses! 11 "Verily! I am your Lord! So take off your shoes, you are in the sacred valley, Tuwa. 12 I have chosen you, so listen to what is revealed to you. 13 I am God, and there is no god but I, so serve Me, and observe acts of prayer to remember Me. 14 “The Last Day will surely come – it was close that I hide it from all – in order that every soul may get the reward of its effort.” (He revealed it to His Prophets, so that people may fear and get ready. The exact time is not revealed to the people.) 15 Let him who does not believe in it and follows his lust not turn your thought away from it, lest you are ruined. 16 "And what is that in the right hand, O Moses?" 17 He answered: "It is my staff; I lean on it; and with it I beat down leaves for my sheep; and [many] other uses have I for it." 18 He said: "Moses, throw it down." 19 So he threw it - and lo! it was a snake, moving rapidly. 20 He said: Grasp it and fear not. We shall return it to its former state. 21 Put your hand under your armpit: it will come out [shining] white, without any blemish. This shall be another sign. 22 So We would show thee some of Our greatest signs. 23 Go thou unto Pharaoh! Lo! he hath transgressed (the bounds). 24
