[Moses] said, "My Lord, expand for me my breast [with assurance] 25 And ease for me my affair. 26 And untie the knot from my tongue 27 “In order that they may understand my speech.” 28 Appoint a deputy (for me) from my own people. 29 Harun, my brother. 30 to support me. 31 and let him share my task, 32 So that we should glorify Thee much, 33 And much remember Thee. 34 Indeed, You are of us ever Seeing." 35 Allah said: "You are granted your request, O Musa (Moses)! 36 We had already shown you favor 37 "When We inspired your mother with that which We inspired. 38 to lace her child in a chest and throw it into the sea which would hurl it towards the shore. Then an enemy of Mine who was also the enemy of the child would pick it up from there. I made you attractive and loveable so that you would be reared before My own eyes. 39 Your sister went (to them) and said: 'Shall I guide you to one who will nurse him' And so We restored you to your mother, so that her eyes might rejoice and that she might not sorrow. And when you killed a soul We saved you from grief and then We tried you with many trials. You stayed among the people of Midian for a number of years, and then, Moses, you came here according to a decree. 40 I have chosen thee for My service; 41 Go with My signs, you and your brother, and do not be lax in remembering Me. 42 Go both to Firon, surely he has become inordinate; 43 But speak gently to him; perhaps he may yet take heed or even feel afraid." 44 The two [brothers] said: "O our Sustainer! Verily, we fear lest he act hastily with regard to us, or lest he [continue to] transgress all bounds of equity." 45 He said: "Fear not: for I am with you: I hear and see (everything). 46 "So go you both to him, and say: 'Verily, we are Messengers of your Lord, so let the Children of Israel go with us, and torment them not; indeed, we have come with a sign from your Lord! And peace will be upon him who follows the guidance! 47 Surely it has been revealed to us that the chastisement will surely come upon him who rejects and turns back. 48 [Pharaoh] said, "So who is the Lord of you two, O Moses?" 49 They replied, "Our Lord is the One Who has created all things and has given guidance". 50 He (Pharaoh) asked: 'How was it then, with the former generations' 51 He replied: "The knowledge of that is with my Lord, duly recorded: my Lord never errs, nor forgets,- 52 He who appointed the earth to be a cradle for you, and therein threaded roads for you, and sent down water out of heaven, and therewith We have brought forth divers kinds of plants. 53 You eat and let your cattle graze' Surely, in this there are signs for those of understanding. 54
