The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Blissful are the believers 1 Who are humble in their prayers, 2 Who avoid vain talk; 3 those who pay the zakat; 4 Who abstain from sex, 5 except with their spouses and slave-girls. The practice of carnal relations is lawful with them. 6 whereas such as seek to go beyond that [limit] are truly transgressors; 7 And those who of their trusts and covenant are keepers. 8 and who guard their prayers [from all worldly intent]. 9 These are indeed the inheritors. 10 Those who will get the inheritance of Paradise; they will abide in it forever. 11 We have created the human being from an extract of clay 12 Then placed him as a drop (of seed) in a safe lodging; 13 Then We created of the drop, a clot (of congealed blood) and We created the clot into bitesize tissue, then We created the bitesize tissue into bones, then We clothed the bones with flesh, and then produced it an other creation. Blessed is Allah, the Best of creators! 14 And then, behold! after all this, you are destined to die; 15 and be resurrected on the Day of Resurrection. 16 And certainly We made above you seven heavens; and never are We heedless of creation. 17 And we send down from the sky water in measure, and We give it lodging in the earth, and lo! We are Able to withdraw it. 18 Then We brought forth for you therewith gardens of date-palms and grapes, wherein is much fruit for you, and whereof you eat. 19 And a tree that grows out of Mount Sinai which produces oil and a condiment for those who eat. 20 In the cattle, too, is a lesson for you. We let you drink of that which is in their bellies, and there are many benefits in them for you, and you eat of them, 21 And on them and on the ship ye are carried. 22
