The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Successful indeed are the believers 1 Who are humble in their prayers, 2 and from idle talk turn away 3 and at almsgiving are active 4 who strictly guard their private parts 5 Except from their wives and women slaves of old are free of blame, 6 Those who seek beyond that are transgressors. 7 And who are shepherds of their pledge and their covenant, 8 and who guard their prayers [from all worldly intent]. 9 It is they, they who shall be the inheritors 10 Who will inherit paradise. There they will abide. 11 And indeed We created man (Adam) out of an extract of clay (water and earth). 12 Then We placed him as (a drop of) sperm in a place of rest, firmly fixed; 13 then We developed that drop into a clinging form, and We developed that form into a lump of flesh, and We developed that lump into bones, and clothed the bones with flesh. Then We brought him into being as a new creation, glory be to God, the best of creators, 14 After that, surely, you will die. 15 Then will be raised up on the Day of Resurrection. 16 We have indeed fashioned above you seven paths. Never were We unaware of the task of creation. 17 And We sent down from the sky water (rain) in (due) measure, and We gave it lodging in the earth, and verily, We are Able to take it away. 18 Then We produced for you therewith gardens of palms and vines wherein are many fruits for you, and of them you eat, 19 And a tree (olive) that springs forth from Mount Sinai, that grows oil, and (it is a) relish for the eaters. 20 And indeed there is also a lesson for you in cattle. We provide you with drink out of what they have in their bellies; and you have many other benefits in them: you eat of them, 21 And on them and on the ships you are borne. 22
