The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ Successful indeed are the believers, 1 They who are during their prayer humbly submissive 2 And those who from everything vain turn away. 3 And who pay the (obligatory) charity. 4 Who guard their sex 5 Except before their mates or those whom their right hands possess, for they surely are not blameable, 6 but those who seek to go beyond that are transgressors -- 7 And those who fulfil their trusts and keep their promises; 8 And those who of their prayers are observant. 9 Such are the inheritors 10 that will inherit the paradise; [and] therein shall they abide. 11 And certainly We created man of an extract of clay, 12 and then We cause him to remain as a drop of sperm in [the wombs] firm keeping, 13 We then turned the drop of fluid into a clot of blood, then the clot into a small lump of flesh, then the lump into bones, then covered the bones with flesh; then developed it in a different mould; therefore Most Auspicious is Allah, the Best Creator. 14 Thereafter you are destined to die, 15 Then lo! on the Day of Resurrection ye are raised (again). 16 And We have created above you seven paths, and We are never unmindful of creation. 17 And we send down from the sky water in measure, and We give it lodging in the earth, and lo! We are Able to withdraw it. 18 Then We brought forth for you therewith gardens of date-palms and grapes, wherein is much fruit for you, and whereof you eat. 19 The tree that grows on Mount Sinai yields oil and seasoning for those who eat. 20 There is a lesson for you concerning cattle. We provide you with drink from their bellies and many other benefits. You can consume them as meat. 21 And on them, as well as in ships, ye ride. 22
