The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ Successful indeed are the believers; 1 those who are humble in their prayer; 2 and who turn away from all that is frivolous, 3 And who pay the (obligatory) charity. 4 who strictly guard their private parts 5 Save in regard to their spouses and those whom their right hands own: so they are not blameworthy 6 But whoso craveth beyond that, such are transgressors - 7 And those who fulfil their trusts and keep their promises; 8 and who guard their prayers [from all worldly intent]. 9 They are the inheritors. 10 who shall inherit Paradise therein dwelling forever. 11 We created man from the finest extract of clay, 12 Then We placed him as a sperm in a firmly established lodging; 13 Then We fashioned the sperm into an embryo, then fashioned the embryo into a shapeless lump of flesh; then from the lump of flesh We fashioned bones, then clothed the bones with flesh. Thus We formed him into a new creation. So blessed be God the best of Creators. 14 Thereafter you are destined to die, 15 Then you will be raised up again on the Resurrection Day. 16 We have indeed fashioned above you seven paths. Never were We unaware of the task of creation. 17 We sent down water from the sky in due measure and lodged it in the earth, but if We please, We have the power to take it away, 18 So with it We produced gardens of date-palms and grapes for you, in which is abundant fruit for you and you eat therefrom. 19 And We also produced the tree which springs forth from Mount Sinai, containing oil and sauce for those that eat. 20 And surely in the cattle there is a lesson for you; We give you to drink of what is in their bellies, and many uses there are in them for you, and of them you eat; 21 And upon them and on ships you are carried. 22
