The unbelieving assembly of his nation, who belied the encounter of the Everlasting Life, and on whom We had bestowed ease in this life, said: 'This is but a human like yourselves; he eats of what you eat and drinks of what you drink. 33 “If you were to obey a human like yourselves, then surely you are losers!” 34 Does he promise you that after you die and become dust and bones you will be brought back to life again? 35 ۞ "Far, very far is that which you are promised. 36 There is only the life of this world: We die and we live: there is no rising from the dead for us. 37 He is only a man who invents lies against God, so have no faith in him". 38 (The apostle prayed): "O Lord, deliver me, for they accuse me of lies." 39 [Allah] said, "After a little, they will surely become regretful." 40 Then a mighty blast quite justly overtook them, and We reduced them to a rubble. So away with the wrong-doing folk! 41 Then We raised after them other generations. 42 No people can hasten on their doom nor can they postpone (it). 43 Then sent We our messengers in succession: every time there came to a people their messenger, they accused him of falsehood: so We made them follow each other (in punishment): We made them as a tale (that is told): So away with a people that will not believe! 44 We then sent Moosa and his brother Haroon, with Our signs and a clear proof. 45 Towards Firaun and his court members – in response they were haughty, and they were in dominance. 46 They said, "Are we to believe in two human beings like ourselves, while their people are subject to us?" 47 So they rejected them and became of those who were destroyed. 48 And We verily gave Moses the Scripture, that haply they might go aright. 49 We made the son of Mary and his mother a sign, and gave them a refuge on a hillside where there was a hollow and a spring. 50
