The notables among his people who had refused to believe and who denied the meeting of the Hereafter, and those whom We had endowed with ease and comfort in this life, cried out: "This is no other than a mortal like yourselves who eats what you eat and drinks what you drink. 33 If ye were to obey a mortal like yourselves, then, lo! ye surely would be losers. 34 What, does he promise you that when you are dead and turned to dust and bones, you will be brought forth? 35 ۞ Far-fetched, utterly far-fetched is what you are being promised. 36 This is our only life. We live and will die but we will never be brought back to life again. 37 “He is just a man who has fabricated a lie against Allah, and we are not going to believe him.” 38 He said: "O my Lord! Help me because they deny me." 39 He answered: "A short while, and they shall be repenting." 40 So the true Scream seized them – We therefore made them like rotten hay; so away with the unjust people! 41 Then We produced after them other generations. 42 No nation can live beyond its allotted time, or lag behind. 43 Then sent We Our Messengers successively; whenever its Messenger came to a nation they cried him lies, so We caused some of them to follow others, and We made them as but tales; so away with a people who do not believe! 44 Then We sent Moses and his brother Aaron with Our miracles and clear authority 45 to Pharaoh and his courtiers, but they behaved insolently, for they were an arrogant people. 46 They said, "Should we believe two men like ourselves while their people are for us in servitude?" 47 Then they belied the twain; so they became of those who were destroyed. 48 And indeed We gave Moosa the Book, that they may attain guidance. 49 And We made the son of Maryam (Prophet Eisa) and his mother a sign, and We gave them shelter on a height, a place to stay and visible springs. 50
