The Statute Book (Al-Furqaan)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ Blessed is He who has sent down the Criterion to His worshiper (Prophet Muhammad), that he is a warner to all mankind; 1 He to whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth: no son has He begotten, nor has He a partner in His dominion: it is He who created all things, and ordered them in due proportions. 2 And they have taken beside Him gods creating not aught and are themselves created, owning for themselves neither hurt nor benefit, and owning not death nor life nor resurrection. 3 Those who have rejected the Message of the Prophet, say, "This (Al-Furgan) is a forgery which this man himself has devised, and some others have helped him at it. " What a cruel injustice and an impudent lie! 4 And they say: The stories of the ancients-- he has got them written-- so these are read out to him morning and evening. 5 Say: "He who knows the secrets of the heavens and the earth has revealed it to me; and He is surely forgiving and kind." 6 They say, "Why does this Messenger eat food, and walk in the streets? Why has not an angel been sent to him so that they could preach the message together? 7 Or (why is not) treasure thrown down unto him, or why hath he not a paradise from whence to eat? And the evil-doers say: Ye are but following a man bewitched. 8 See how they strike examples for you, surely they have gone astray and are unable to find a way. 9
