۞ And those who fear not the meeting with Us say: wherefore are not angels sent down unto us or wherefore we see not our Lord! Assuredly they have proven stiff-necked in their souls and have exceeded the bounds with excess great. 21 On the Day when they behold the angels, there will be no glad tidings for the sinners. They will say: 'A refuge which is forbidden' 22 We shall turn to their deeds and scatter them like particles of dust. 23 The Companions of the Garden will be well, that Day, in their abode, and have the fairest of places for repose. 24 On that Day, the heaven is split asunder with clouds and the angels are sent down in majesty, 25 and the Absolute kingdom will belong to the Beneficent God. 26 Upon that Day the harmdoer shall bite his hands, and say: 'Would that I had taken a Path with the Messenger! 27 O woe is me! would that I had not taken such a one for a friend! 28 He led me astray from the Warning after it had come to me. Satan always betrays man. 29 And the Apostle will say: my Lord! verily my people took this Qur'an as a thing to be shunned. 30 O Muhammad, in this very way We have made the criminals the enemies of every Prophet, but your Lord suffices for you as your Guide and Helper. 31 Those who deny the truth say, "Why was the Quran not sent down to him in a single revelation?" We sent it in this manner, so that We might strengthen your heart. We gave it to you in gradual revelation. 32 They do not bring to you any parable but that which We bring to you is the truth and better in explanation. 33 Those who will be gathered to Hell (prone) on their faces,- they will be in an evil plight, and, as to Path, most astray. 34
