Have you not seen how your Lord lengthens the shadows? Had He pleased, He could have made them constant; then We placed the sun as an indicator for them, 45 then We withdrew it to Us, a gradual withdrawal. 46 And He it is Who makes the Night as a Robe for you, and Sleep as Repose, and makes the Day (as it were) a Resurrection. 47 And it is He Who sends the winds as heralds of glad tidings, going before His Mercy (rain), and We send down pure water from the sky, 48 so that We may bring dead land to life thereby, and give to drink thereof to many [beings] of Our creation, beasts as well as humans. 49 And We have certainly distributed it among them that they might be reminded, but most of the people refuse except disbelief. 50 And if We had willed, We would have raised up in each town a warner. 51 So do not listen to unbelievers, and strive against them with greater effort. 52 ۞ And it is He, Who has let loose the two seas, one palatable and sweet, the other bitter and saltish, and there is a partition between them, which is an insurmountable barrier. 53 And He it is who out of this [very] water has created man, and has endowed him with [the consciousness of] descent and marriage-tie: for thy Sustainer is ever infinite in His power. 54 And yet, some people worship, instead of God, things that can neither benefit them nor harm them: thus, he who denies the truth does indeed turn his back on his Sustainer! 55 But thee We only sent to give glad tidings and admonition. 56 Say, "I do not ask of you for it any payment - only that whoever wills might take to his Lord a way." 57 O Muhammad trust in that Allah Who is Ever-Living and will never die' Glorify Him with His praise, for He alone is sufficient to be aware of the sins of His servants. 58 Who created the heavens and the earth and what is between them in six periods, and He is firmly established on the throne of authority; the Beneficent Allah, so ask respecting it one aware. 59 But when they are told, 'Bow yourselves to the All-merciful,' they say, 'And what is the All-merciful? Shall we bow ourselves to what thou biddest us?' And it increases them in aversion. ۩ 60
