Do you not see how your Lord stretches the shadow? Had it been His will, He could have made it constant. Then He appointed the sun to be a guide to it; 45 Then We draw it back to Us, withdrawing it little by little. 46 And it is Allah Who has ordained the night as a garment for you, and the sleep as a repose of death, and the day as the time of return to life. 47 And it is He who sendeth forth the winds as a herald before His mercy and We send down from the heaven water pure. 48 so, that with it We revive dead lands and provide drink for the cattle and the human We created. 49 And We set it forth among them, that they may be admonished, but most men begrudge aught save infidelity. 50 Now had We so willed, We could have [continued as before and] raised up a [separate] warner in every single community: 51 So obey not the disbelievers, but strive against them herewith with a great endeavour. 52 ۞ It is He Who has let free the two bodies of flowing water: One palatable and sweet, and the other salt and bitter; yet has He made a barrier between them, a partition that is forbidden to be passed. 53 It is He who created man from water, then gave him consanguinity and affinity. Your Lord is omnipotent. 54 And they (disbelievers, polytheists, etc.) worship besides Allah, that which can neither profit them nor harm them, and the disbeliever is ever a helper (of the Satan) against his Lord. 55 We have sent you for no other reason but to be a bearer of glad news and warning. 56 Say: "No reward do I ask of you for it but this: that each one who will may take a (straight) Path to his Lord." 57 Put thy trust in the Living God, the Undying, and proclaim His praise. Sufficiently is He aware of His servants sins 58 He who has created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them in six aeons, and is established on the throne of His almightiness; the Most Gracious! Ask, then, about Him, [the] One who is [truly] aware. 59 And when it is said unto them: Prostrate to the Beneficent! they say: And what is the Beneficent? Are we to prostrate to whatever thou (Muhammad) biddest us? And it increaseth aversion in them. ۩ 60
