And when your Lord called out to Musa, saying: Go to the unjust people, 10 “The nation of Firaun; will they not fear?” 11 'My Lord' he replied, 'I fear they will belie me 12 and then my breast will be straitened and my tongue will not be free: send, then, [this Thy command] to Aaron. 13 "And they have a charge of crime against me, and I fear they will kill me." 14 He said: by no means. So go ye twain with Our signs; verily We shall be with you listening. 15 go both to Pharaoh and both of you say to him: 'We are (each) a Messenger from the Lord of all the Worlds. 16 That you should send the children of Israel with us.' 17 [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] said [to Musa (Moses)]: "Did we not bring you up among us as a child? And you did dwell many years of your life with us. 18 And yet thou didst commit that [heinous] deed of thine, and [hast thus shown that] thou art one of the ingrate!" 19 [Moses] said, "I did it, then, while I was of those astray. 20 and I fled from you because I feared you. Then my Lord granted me wisdom and made me one of the messengers. 21 Is this then the blessing with which you reproach me, that you have the Children of Israel for worshipers' 22 Pharaoh said, 'And what is the Lord of all Being?' 23 Said Moosa, “Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them; if you believe.” 24 Pharaoh said to those around him: "Do you hear (what he says)?" 25 He said, 'Your Lord and the Lord of your fathers, the ancients.' 26 Pharaoh said to the audience: "This Messenger of yours who has been sent to you is simply mad." 27 [Moses] said, "Lord of the east and the west and that between them, if you were to reason." 28 'If you take any other god except myself' he (Pharaoh) replied, 'you shall be thrown into prison' 29 He said: What! even if I bring to you something manifest? 30 (The Pharaoh) said: "Then bring it, if you speak the truth." 31 (No sooner had he said this than) Moses threw down his rod and behold, it was a veritable serpent, 32 And he drew forth his hand, and lo! it appeared white to the onlookers. 33
